Last Save by H.A. Laine was such an enjoyable and refreshing read. From the beginning, the story pulled me in with its engaging atmosphere, good paced plot, and strong emotional connection. The character development was especially well done, making it easy to become invested in their journeys and relationships throughout the story. It took me quite some time to fiinish the book but Im happy I did This book balanced lighter moments with emotional depth perfectly, making it an ideal read to break up some heavier books. The writing flowed naturally, the pacing kept me interested the entire time, and the story consistently held my attention from start to finish. I really appreciated the direction the plot took and how effortlessly the author created characters and moments that felt genuine and memorable. Overall, this was a captivating and heartfelt read that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I would definitely recommend it to readers looking for an emotional, character-driven story with great pacing and engaging storytelling. This story was such a fun and cosy sports romance read. I’m always a sucker for fake dating tropes, and this one honestly delivered. Carter and Wren had great chemistry, but I really liked that their relationship also had emotional depth and didn’t feel rushed. Carter was such an easy character to love with his protective golden retriever energy, while Wren felt really relatable with how guarded and independent she was. Their banter, awkward moments, and growing connection kept me invested the whole time. I also really liked the photography elements added throughout the story because it gave Wren’s character something unique, even if some of the technical terms went a little over my head at times. The hockey setting was fun without taking over the romance, and the mix of humour, steam, and emotional moments made this a really easy book to get through. Some parts felt a little predictable, but honestly that’s part of the charm with books like this, and I still had a great time reading it. Overall, this was a sweet, entertaining sports romance that I’d definitely recommend if you love fake dating, slow burn chemistry, and lovable hockey players. Thank you to H.A. Laine and Pen Pinery for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. |
