From sweet kisses to scorching passion—discover what each heat level means and find the perfect romance for your reading mood.
Heat levels are starting points! Check each ARC's trigger warnings and description to make sure it's your vibe.
Closed Door • Fade to Black
Romance is present, but physical intimacy stays off the page. At most, you may see a kiss, hand-holding, or emotional closeness. Perfect for readers who want all the butterflies without the bedroom scenes.
Fade to Black • Implied Intimacy
Sexual tension builds and intimacy is implied, but scenes fade out before explicit action. The reader knows what happens without seeing it. Think steamy kisses that lead to closed doors.
On-Page Intimacy • Moderate Detail
On-page intimate scenes with moderate detail. Sex is part of the story, but not the primary focus. Scenes are tasteful and emotionally connected to the plot.
Explicit Scenes • Frequent Intimacy
Explicit, on-page sex scenes with strong sensory detail. Multiple scenes are common and intimacy is a major part of character development. Language is direct and descriptive.
Erotic Romance • Maximum Heat
High heat throughout the book. Sex scenes are frequent, long, and central to the reading experience. Erotic exploration and physical chemistry drive much of the narrative. This is the spiciest level available.
