This story was such a fun and cosy sports romance read. I’m always a sucker for fake dating tropes, and this one honestly delivered. Carter and Wren had great chemistry, but I really liked that their relationship also had emotional depth and didn’t feel rushed.

Carter was such an easy character to love with his protective golden retriever energy, while Wren felt really relatable with how guarded and independent she was. Their banter, awkward moments, and growing connection kept me invested the whole time. I also really liked the photography elements added throughout the story because it gave Wren’s character something unique, even if some of the technical terms went a little over my head at times.

The hockey setting was fun without taking over the romance, and the mix of humour, steam, and emotional moments made this a really easy book to get through. Some parts felt a little predictable, but honestly that’s part of the charm with books like this, and I still had a great time reading it. Overall, this was a sweet, entertaining sports romance that I’d definitely recommend if you love fake dating, slow burn chemistry, and lovable hockey players.
