The cover of this book had me intrigued, but I was captured by the synopsis, which promised no non-consensual spice and they were true to their word. They did however promise toddler chaos and delivered in spades!

This short book, is the first part in a series, where the spice and tension builds. I loved the edge to this book, coupled with the many fairy tale references. It was not at all what I expected from a dark romance and I loved it.

The MMC is very morally grey (all the best are), but completely floored by a little ginger toddler. He is only soft for the FMC and I cannot wait to see their relationship grow. I can feel he is going to be a world-burning, who did this to you, kind of badass! I read this book in one sitting and the cliff-hanger had me on the edge of my seat. Roll-on book 2!

A fairytale for all women who still believe. I loved the way this book unfolded like a classic fairytale, but with so many twists. The slow burn/will they, won't they was different anything I have read before. Unlike a lot of romance stories, I couldn't predict the winding story and I loved that!

The FMC was the perfect mix of wimsy, hope and taking matters into her own hands. Nothing works out quite as you expect and that kept me gripped throughout. The MMC was infuriating, sexy and captivating. I so easily let the love sweep me away and then bam! That ending, oh my gosh. Not sure I will recover!

I really enjoyed this book of two halves. The first section covers the unfolding tension and mystery of the midnight caller. I really enjoyed trying to work out who they were and watching the relationship grow through the calls. The FMC has a lot to cope with and is the epitome of grace. I really connected with her.

The second happens in day and I loved how the pace quickened as tension grew and the stakes were higher. The romance is very slow burn and I really enjoyed that. However I found the MMC immature and controlling at times, with his focus on her clothes or not drinking. He also really struggles with advocating for himself and can be very insecure which was irritating at times.

That being said, the ending was great and I look forward to reading book two and finding out the answers to the mysteries hat have bugged me ever since!
