Book Review Offsite

I received an ARC copy of this from Pen Pinery and I'm so I glad I did. I loved reading the story of Caroline and Dominic. She is this broken and fiercely strong woman who has been doing everything on her own for too long. When you meet Dominic he seems dangerous and untouchable but he's so much more.

The author develops these characters really well and allows you to follow them on their journey of love and healing. Caroline is a bit stubborn in this area but I get it...trauma. But Dominic is so loving and patient and really so likeable. They written so well that you could feel the emotion coming off the page. I could feel Caroline's struggle with her past, the anxiety of holding it all together and then I could feel her release and relief when she finally begins to trust.

There are some trigger warnings here. However it's handled really well. You do witness the kidnapping on page but what happens while she's in captivity is off page and briefly mentioned. But what you do get to read is the healing and recovery that happens afterward and I loved that it was a focus in this book.

Did I stay up too late to finish this book? I sure did. And I'm not mad about it. I really enjoyed this book and I have been left wanting more. Book 2 can't come soon enough. I am so anxious to see what happens with Nicolai and his father and see his story develop. And can we have a book 3 with Mila please! I'm in for the series and I think you will be too!
