Hi, I’m Mary Ann! If I don't have a book in my hand, I guaranteed have a narrator talking in my ear. As a certified bookaholic, I easily crush over 100 books a year—my headphones are basically an extension of my body at this point. After taking some much-needed time away to process the recent loss of my mother, I am officially using audiobooks to spark my reading engine back up. Stories are my comfort zone, and my ears are wide open and ready for action! My Reading Taste (Feed my obsession with): Immersive Historical Fiction: Take me back in time with sweeping backdrops and juicy historical drama. Epic Sagas & Deep Dramas: Give me complex relationships, messy family dynamics, and all the emotional heartstrings. Character-Driven Romance: Powerful, slow-burn narratives where the chemistry is absolutely electric. What Authors Can Expect From My Earbuds: Because I consume so many books, I am a total sucker for incredible pacing, sharp story structure, and top-tier narrator chemistry. I don’t just review the plot—I critique the vocal performance, emotional range, and character accents, too. I pride myself on quick turnarounds and cross-posting my honest, detailed reviews straight to Goodreads, Amazon, and Audible on release week. Send your characters my way—my headphones are waiting!

I recently finished The Witch’s Broken Crown and found it to be a bit of a toss-up. On the positive side, Calla Robin does a fantastic job building a unique magical atmosphere, and the world-building details are genuinely immersive. I found myself really invested in the setting and the core mystery right from the start.

However, the pacing felt uneven to me. There were moments where the plot really gained momentum, only to hit a lull that made it difficult to maintain my interest. Additionally, while the characters have a lot of potential, I didn't feel like I fully connected with their motivations by the end of the story.

Overall, it’s a solid read if you are a fan of atmospheric fantasy and enjoy exploring new magical systems, even if the execution didn't quite hit the mark for me personally. I’m curious to see what the author writes next.
