ARC Review

If you like your books full of spice, suspense and morally grey MMCs, then this book is the one for you.💜 Five years ago, the brilliant masked musician Il Cigno vanished without a trace. Matteo Rossi, mercenary assassin and devoted uncle, is on the hunt to find her. When his niece, Alessandra, begins showing her 13-year-old attitude, and Alessandra’s music teacher, Mia Mills, loyally advocates for his niece’s opportunity to be a part of a prestigious music programme, Matteo is unsure of what the next steps of parenting would be. Mia is determined to fight for Alessandra’s dreams, even if it means standing up to her dark, dangerous guardian. Mia knows getting close to people is a bad idea, but she struggles to fight the pull towards the Rossi family. But Matteo and Mia both know that hope and love can get you killed.☠️ This book was BRILLIANT. It was everything you want in a romance. Matteo was grumpy but loyal, mysterious but with a soft spot for his niece. Matteo’s protectiveness of his niece was so warming, and added to the multilayers of his personality. Mia’s complicated past had such an affect on how she moved forward with her life and watching the tension build between Matteo and Mia was amazing. The slow burn between Matteo and Mia was honestly perfection, and the spicy scenes were 10/10. The correspondence pages were such a good idea and added to the layer of suspense - it genuinely felt like I was part of the hunt for Il Cigno. I loved the setting, and I honestly wish I could own Matteo’s home. It was such a good book and I devoured it. Highly recommend⭐️ Thank you to Halle Macpherson for letting me read your ARC✨ |
