Apply for ARCs on Pen Pinery in three easy steps: pick a book, apply, then read and review early!

If you love discovering new stories before anyone else, applying for ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) on Pen Pinery is a great way to do it. As a reader, there are just three simple stages to the process; whether you’re grabbing an instant download or waiting for author approval.

1. Choosing Your ARC

When browsing ARCs on Pen Pinery, you’ll notice two types:

  • Instant Access: Marked with a lightning bolt ⚡. These titles have automatic approval turned on, so you can download the ARC file (PDF, ePub, etc.) immediately.

  • Application Required: For these, you’ll fill out a short message explaining why you’d like to read the book. Your enthusiasm and thoughtful answer can make all the difference in being approved.

2. Waiting for the Author’s Decision

Authors review applications using helpful details from your reader profile; especially your review ratio (how many ARCs you’ve reviewed compared to how many you’ve downloaded). A higher ratio shows reliability and increases your chances of being accepted.

If your application is approved, you’ll receive an email with a download link for your ARC.
If it’s declined, you’ll also get an email but don’t be discouraged! You can always apply again later, especially if you’ve since finished and reviewed another ARC.

3. Staying in Good Standing

Authors can revoke approval at any time, for instance, if a reader doesn’t follow ARC guidelines. If that happens, you’ll be notified by email and will lose access to leave a review.

That’s all there is to it! With just a few clicks and a thoughtful note, you can start exploring fresh stories and help authors grow through your honest feedback.
