Review of advanced copy received from Author

Really enjoyed this book from the start. Loved the sparks between the MMC and FMC. He falls first and hard. Enemies, betrayal, secrets and revenge in a world of violence with plenty of twists and unfinished business.....looking forward to the next instalment.

I don't give out 5 stars 🌟 often but this had been invested all the way through. It may not have been the emotional and devastating rollercoster of a ride as the others I've rated the same, but this deserved more than 4 🌟 I loved Eli and Zoe's story and the way they needed each other even when they didn't know it. And the ending with the overlap from book one......now I really need to read the next book!

I found this to be less dark, and more the reality of being controlled by the darkness inside you by becoming controlling and violent. Branwen uses Tesni's goodness as a tether to whatever humanity is left inside himself. Overall it was a fast paced book and a good read. However the ending felt a little rushed and somewhat unrealistic to the general vibe of the book in my opinion.
