⭐ 3.5/5 This was definitely a slow-burn read. The characters had some interesting moments and I enjoyed parts of their dynamic, though I personally didn’t feel quite as connected to them as I hoped I would. The plot had an intriguing setup and kept me curious about where the story was heading. Around the 60% mark, though, the momentum slowed down a bit for me, and some parts started to feel a little repetitive. I think I just wanted a bit more happening during that stretch to keep me fully invested. The pacing is on the slower side, which works well with the slow-burn romance, although there were a few moments where I found myself wishing things would move along a little faster. The spice was fine, but it wasn’t really a standout part of the book for me. I think I was hoping for a little more chemistry and intensity after such a gradual buildup. Overall, this was an interesting romantic suspense with a solid premise, even if a few elements didn’t completely land for me. Read if you enjoy: |

⭐ 4/5 Between Floors was a quick, enjoyable read. The FMC had some neurodivergent tendencies that reminded me of a character from a previous read, but here they felt naturally woven into her character rather than overworked into the story. The MMC was just as entertaining as the FMC, especially once you realize just how much alike the two of them actually are. Their similarities made their dynamic even more fun to read. Since this is a novella, the story moves quickly and so does the relationship, but it worked because there was already a foundation between them. It never felt like the connection came completely out of nowhere. The spice was fitting for the story and well written, with enough heat to match the chemistry. Read if you enjoy: |

⭐⭐ 2/5 This book might not have been for me, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else. I enjoyed the idea of following a married couple who have been together for 15 years and are still discovering new things about each other. Their chemistry was still very present, which I appreciated, especially with such an established relationship. For me, the story just didn’t hold my attention as much as I hoped it would. The frequent focus on the FMC’s neurodivergence also started to feel a little repetitive and sometimes overshadowed the relationship itself. There were parts of the married-couple dynamic I enjoyed, but overall this one just wasn’t the right fit for me. Read If You Enjoy |
