I really enjoyed Realms of the After: Mortal Love by K. Rosé. Delilah is the quintessential hero in each realm, leading with her heart and choosing to trust even though life has worked hard to strip her trust away.
The worlds created throughout the story are vivid and magical, making it easy to get lost in them as a reader. Overall, it was a really lovely read, and I’m hoping the story continues.

I could see where the author of Another Life was going, but I struggled to really connect with the writing style, which made it hard to stay engaged at times. That said, the heart of the story is there. The focus on chosen family and how trauma doesn't have to define you. Although it didn’t fully land for me, I can see how it could for some readers.

Wings of the Fallen is a fun read. The author explores good and evil in a non-traditional way, with the ‘good’ guys needing to be taken down and the ‘bad’ ones stepping in to save the day. Orien, Layos, Crow and Reiligh are an odd foursome, but it works. A solid debut that makes me keen to see what the author does next.
