This book was the perfect blend of paranormal mystery and high-stakes romance.

The "fated love" trope was handled beautifully; the connection between Matt and Anna felt electric from their first meeting, and seeing them rely on each other while facing such a dark threat was gripping. The pacing was fast, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see how it ended. If you love romantic suspense with a supernatural twist, you need to read this!

The story started strongly and hooked me right in.

However, I started to struggle around the halfway point. The story began to feel a bit like filler, and not a lot was happening. In addition to this, there were a lot of photography references. While I understand that one of the main characters is a photographer, I felt the terminology was used too frequently, and it occasionally came across as either cringey or not quite used in the correct way.

Despite this, the ending was good and offered a nice way to tie up the book. If you like a hockey romance with a lower level of spice, I would recommend giving this one a try.
