I received an ARC copy of The Roman Prince of Chaos by Mara J. Ova from Pen Pinery, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to read and review it.
This was an entertaining slow-burn sports romance that delivered plenty of chemistry, banter, and tension. Alessandro and Klara made a fun opposites-attract pairing, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop over the course of the story. Alessandro's confidence and charm balanced well with Klara's intelligence and determination, creating some genuinely enjoyable interactions.
One of my favorite aspects of the book was the Roman setting and the inclusion of history and architecture alongside the football world. It gave the story a unique feel and added depth beyond the romance. The banter between the main characters kept me engaged, and the slow-burn buildup made the romantic moments satisfying when they finally arrived.
The reason this is a 4-star rather than a 5-star read for me is that some sections felt a bit longer than necessary, and there were moments when I wanted the relationship progression to move a little faster. However, the strong character chemistry, humor, and engaging setting kept me turning the pages.
Overall, if you enjoy slow-burn romance, football/soccer heroes, witty banter, and a charming Italian setting, I would definitely recommend giving this book a try. It was a fun, spicy romance with memorable characters and an enjoyable blend of sports, history, and romance.
Thank you to Pen Pinery and Mara J. Ova for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
