Sugar and Ice

There was a lot I loved about this book, so I decided to put together a little list:

The atmosphere: We get a small town with a strong sense of community, where everyone is willing to fight tooth and nail to keep their run-down ice rink alive. The way these people made me feel was truly special and my heart is overflowing with warmth just thinking about them.

The characters: I could connect with the characters on such a deep level. Whether it was Hallie or Chase, the writing made it incredibly easy for me to understand them, empathize with them and truly feel what they were feeling. Honestly, I connected with them more than I have with characters in many other books.

The ice rink: Sure, it desperately needs a renovation, but I actually loved how attached everyone was to it. There was something beautiful about the idea that every scratch had a story behind it.

How entertaining it was: This book was just such a fun read. For me, the whole package came together perfectly and I was so invested that I didn’t want to miss a single word. The story had such a smooth flow that I could just lose myself in it.

The cozy world: This book created such a warm, comforting world where a strong community can make almost anything possible. I absolutely loved every single page!
