Between the Glass by H.A. Laine is a sweet hockey romance story about ice hockey player Ben Kowalski, who hides behind jokes, and journalist Renee, who sees right through it all.

This was a book I don’t really know what to think of really. The writing is nice, but sometimes the hockey lingo was hard to understand. The games were described really well: you could feel the energy and the tough playing. The main characters came across naturally and you could understand them because we have a dual POV. I always find that a great asset to any story.

Hockey player Ben is very likable and protective, while Renee is not the tough reporter she wants to be. But both have a somewhat sad history and them meeting is good for both of them. I found it really sad what happened to Renee (read the book).
Between the Glass is not your average hockey romance, it has depth in it and a good story-line. Of course, there is romance and I loved the banter. You get a really good understanding of the media world with all the good and bad things. All in all, I liked reading the story.
