Mermaids have been living among us for thousands of years. One scientist is about to discover not only the truth of their existence, but that she was born to rule them.
Marine biologist Sirène Desjardin has dedicated her life to studying the ocean. But while on assignment in Hawaii, she finally understands why she has always been drawn to its depths. As her 30th birthday approaches, strange things start to happen. It starts with a run-in with her real mother, the Queen of the Merrow, an underwater society of mermaids that have stayed hidden for centuries. Sirène is part of the royal bloodline, making her heir to the throne, if she chooses to accept it.
But there are darker secrets hidden under the waves and everything is not what it seems. Is her mother being honest with her? Or will she be pulled under, left to drown in a watery grave. In her search for answers, Sirène meets Aigèan, one of the queen’s guards, who was sent to silence her before she could claim the throne. He is a powerful warrior, and has always been loyal to his queen, but will he follow orders blindly or follow his heart.
Torn between the world she knows and the one that calls to her, Sirène must decide if she wants to remain human and walk away from her destiny or surrender to the depth and rise as queen.
