I love to read romance, and I also love to read suspense thrillers. When a book is both, I'm usually curious to explore its story and see if it is able to make the two elements stand out without sacrificing the other.

饾悡饾悺饾悶 饾悞饾惂饾悽饾惄饾悶饾惈 饾悮饾惂饾悵 饾惌饾悺饾悶 饾悞饾惏饾悮饾惂 by Halle Macpherson is that kind of book. It thoroughly explored the romance side of it. It started with a sloooowww burn, and as they crossed into spicy territory, it was hot, quite hot. 馃サ As you'd expect from MMC Matteo, who is Italian and works with danger, it would have been running in his veins naturally.

The suspense side of the story was not overwhelmed by the romance in any way. I kept catching my breath every time the 'bad man' was even written in the story. Haha. The villain's obsession bordering on insanity was what helped make it very suspenseful. If only a book could all be protagonists, eh?

The characters developed easily throughout. I loved Mia's sister with her computer skills that even the most feared assassin can only come second to. I also enjoyed the family and friends dynamics in the story. Additionally, the dual POV gave the internal workings of the leads that added to how we get to know them more.

One small complaint from me is it was short haha. I could've stayed with these characters for a long time.

Overall, I fell in love with The Sniper and the Swan, not only because it was written by a book bestie, but because the story itself is precious. Although I may not have become a linguist (lol), the Italian phrases thrown in elevated the feel of the small, dreamy Italian town backdrop.
