This is the third book I’ve read by this author, and I finally came to a realization about why he’s not a 5-star read for me: he writes in shorter sentences than I’m used to, so it throws me off my reading. LOL! Back to this book, we are introduced to Janessa who is a bartender, and more importantly, keeps the seal working. We are immediately drawn into the plot, and it really never lets you go. Janessa has to save herself and the speakeasy, and boy no one makes it easy. I think I liked this series better than the author’s first one, and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for the next. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
