This was a really enjoyable, quick shifter romance that pulled me in more than I expected.
I liked the overall premise and the mix of fated mates and forbidden elements—it kept things interesting and gave the story a bit more tension than your typical shifter read. The dynamic between Lucia, Kaelen, and Ragnar definitely adds intrigue, and I’m curious to see how that develops in the next books.
That said, it does feel a bit like an introduction to a larger story. There’s a lot going on with pack politics and character backstories that aren’t fully explored yet, and the ending leans into that with a bit of an open/cliffhanger feel. Personally, I didn’t mind too much since it made me want to continue the series, but I can see how it might not work for everyone.
The pacing is fast and makes it an easy read, though I would have loved a bit more depth in some moments to feel more connected to the characters.
Overall, a solid and engaging start to a series. Not perfect, but definitely entertaining—and I’ll be picking up the next book to see where it goes.
