Okay hear me out yes the beginning is a bit heavy. Starting right before chapter 1 and it doesn’t continue to get dark.. people who have sensitive triggers I suggest you read the trigger warnings on this book.. BUT…. I will say it does calm down quite a bit and to the point where some parts of the book I found very mellow.

Definitely a hate to love relationship. Both so confused on why they can’t get enough of each other.

Only reason it’s not a 5 start for me is because by the end of the book like 75% + completed there was still a lot that hadn’t happened yet almost to the point where I started to think there must be a part 2 to the book to finish it and it was going to end on a cliff hanger but it does end all it one book! But it did feel like a lot had to be jammed into a small portion of the end and it felt rushed. Even leaving out some things…

Quick and easy read.. especially if you just want something to read in a day. It was cute but definitely left it open so it could be interpreted in many different ways. Not a certain forever HEA but a plan … would love to see how it actually follows through but is fine with how it ended.

I have some notes about this book that I’d like to point out…

1: you will need to use Google Translate quite a bit in this book. But don’t let that deter you from reading it (English, French & Chinese)
2: I was not prepared for how emotionally heartbreaking and sad 1 was going to feel for these MMCs… how their mental health plays a big part in this book. How they put on an act for the world everyday to be a person they think they need to be. It’s simply just so sad to read about… how people do this all the time.
2.5: I thought this was suppose to be a cute romance book but I’m over here getting all emotional for these MMCs wellbeing.
3: THANK GOODNESS they can both see that the other one is putting up an act and they both prefer the real version of them and not the mask they put on.
4: even better they stop putting on the masks and they be themselves and they get their real HEA.

Side note … was also not prepared one HOW the MC gets hurt … just saying….
