When a young woman vanishes inside a crumbling estate, Detective Eliza Harrow is called to investigate—but what she finds is far stranger than a missing person. The house is steeped in cold whispers, and at its heart stands a mirror that seems to watch her every move.
Then a body appears. But the wounds don’t match any known weapon… and the killer might not be human.
Was it the reclusive housekeeper? The elusive owner? Or something much older, buried deep in the bones of the house itself?
Step into a chilling paranormal murder mystery where nothing is what it seems—and the house may have a mind of its own.
I found the story interesting. I liked the MC as a detective female and the mystery is interesting enough. It’s more paranormal than murder mystery but it’s still technically a murder mystery. The “twist” at the end was also good and it leaves room for a second book, kind of. The book actually ends with everyone’s future written out, so I wonder if we’ll get a second book or if it’s an intended series.
Thanks for letting me read this ARC :)
This book has an interesting premise, and I enjoyed the witty main character, Eliza. It was rather short, but I was curious to find out what the mirrors were all about.
I think the story and characters could have been more fleshed out, but it was still a fun read. There’s a lot of shattering going on, and varying the descriptions a bit more at times might have made it more engaging.
Thanks for letting me read this early copy!
